First meeting of African ambassadors' wives in Moscow

On March 17, 2023, the Association for Economic Cooperation with African States (AECAS) held the first meeting of the wives of African ambassadors accredited in Moscow.

An excursion to Zaryadye Park, a flight over Moscow attraction and a friendly tea party at the Voskhod restaurant were organized for the distinguished ladies.

On the eve of the Second Russia-Africa Summit in July 2023 in St. Petersburg and in connection with the widely celebrated International Women's Day, AECAS gathered together with the wives of African ambassadors accredited in Moscow and women with great joy, celebrated their international holiday together.

At the meeting it was decided to create Women's Club of African Ambassadors together with representatives of Russian business, cultural and public figures.

Women agreed to meet on a regular basis, at least twice a month. And ahead of them not only excursions to Moscow museums and exhibitions, but also visits to leading enterprises and business structures of the capital, meetings with representatives of the cultural elite and the scientific community, prominent statesmen and public figures of Russia, as well as travel to the regions of the country.

The first meeting was attended by the spouses of the ambassadors of the following countries: Angola, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Mauritania, Namibia, Tunisia, Sudan, Equatorial Guinea. They were accompanied by Mrs. Galli Monastyreva, Director for Humanitarian Projects of the AECAS, Mrs. Anna Vovk, Member of the Council for Financial and Industrial and Investment Policy of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Mrs. Irina Saltykova, Director of the APEC BEST AWARD, and Mrs. Larisa Taradina, Head of International Development Department of the Presidential Academy (Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration).
