Opening of the African Ambassadors' Wives Club

On 2 June, the third meeting of the wives of African ambassadors accredited in Moscow took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia, in a cosy and luxurious mansion. The ladies came in their national dresses, which gave the meeting an incredible beauty and a special solemnity.

The general meeting decided to open African Ambassadors' Wives Club and elected Nadia Ben Salem, spouse of the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia, as its President.

Over lunch, the ladies discussed joint plans for various cultural and charity events not only in Moscow but also in other regions of Russia.

In the run-up to the Russia-Africa Summit to be held in St. Petersburg in July, the spouses of African ambassadors are ready to be actively involved in the women's agenda of the Summit.

The meeting was attended by the spouses of the following Ambassadors: Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Mauritania, Guinea Conakry, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Congo Brazzaville, Senegal, Uganda.

Gallie Monastyreva was elected as Coordinator of the Club.
