Third tour of the African Diplomatic Corps Ambassadors to the Diamond Fund

23 April, Moscow - The Association for Economic Cooperation with African States (AECAS) and the Public Organization "Moscow and Muscovites" with the support of the Head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Forum, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at large O.B. Ozerov and Gokhran of Russia conducted a tour of the Diamond Fund and the Kremlin for the Ambassadors of the African Corps accredited in Moscow.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea Dr. Majou Kake with spouse, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia Hon. Tarak Ben Salem with spouse, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Senegal Hon. Abdu Salam Diallo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Namibia Hon. Clemens Handuukeme Kashuupulwa with family participated in the tour, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Hon. Mohamed Mahmoud Dahi and his family, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Burkina Faso Hon. Antoine Somda, First Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Chad Ahmat Moussa Charimi, Ms. Abamuka Kidist Gebreslassi from the Embassy of Sudan and their accompanying persons.

The Diamond Fund is a unique collection, which has passed a long way, closely connected with the history of the Russian state. It consists of masterpieces of jewellery art of the XVIII-XX centuries, rare precious stones, insignia, nuggets of noble metals of great historical, artistic, scientific and material value. The collection, which undoubtedly belongs to the most significant and largest collections in the world, forms the most famous part of the State Fonds treasury.

A tour of the Moscow Kremlin, the largest active fortress in Europe, which includes historic walls and towers, chambers and palaces, cathedrals, monuments and treasure museums, as well as the official residence of the Russian President and the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, left a most vivid and memorable impression on foreign guests.

This tour was the third in a series of weekly guided tours of Moscow for the Ambassadors of the African Corps. Ahead of the distinguished guests an unforgettable excursion to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and the Victory Museum, Tsaritsyno Estate Museum and the State Historical Museum, and many other sights of the capital and its suburbs awaits.

The organisers also plan to hold roadshows in Russia's regions: Nizhny Novgorod, Tula, Krasnodar and many others.
